Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how 0x Code Limited ("0x Code", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our websites, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). It applies to all apps published by 0x Code Limited, including Better BC Assessment and any future apps that link to this policy.
If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Services. If you have questions, contact us at privacy@0x.company.
Summary
- We collect the minimum data needed to run our apps.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not use advertising trackers or profile you for advertising.
- Some apps request optional permissions (such as location) only to provide a specific feature, and only while you use it.
- You can request access, correction, or deletion of your data at any time.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
We collect information you give us directly, such as when you contact us, fill out a form, or submit content within an app. This may include your name, email address, and the contents of your message or submission.
Information collected automatically
When you use our Services we automatically receive certain technical information, such as device type, operating system, app version, language, approximate region (derived from IP address), and basic usage events (for example, when a screen is opened or an action fails). This information helps us diagnose problems and improve the Services. We do not use it to build advertising profiles.
Permissions some apps may request
- Location. Some apps (e.g. Better BC Assessment) request location access to provide location-aware features. Location is used on your device for that feature and is not stored on our servers unless you explicitly submit it as part of content you create.
- Camera, photos, files. If an app feature requires it, we ask for access only at the moment it is needed. Media you choose is processed for that feature and not collected by us unless you submit it.
- Notifications. Used only to deliver alerts you have opted in to within the app.
You can change or revoke any of these permissions at any time in your device settings.
Sensitive information
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information (such as government IDs, financial account numbers, health data, biometric data, or precise religious or political views).
2. How we use information
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Services.
- Respond to your requests, support inquiries, and feedback.
- Diagnose technical issues, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
We only process your information when we have a valid reason to do so under applicable law.
3. Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK users)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, we rely on the following bases:
- Consent, for optional features or communications.
- Performance of a contract, to deliver Services you have requested.
- Legitimate interests, such as keeping the Services secure and improving them.
- Legal obligation, where we are required to process information by law.
4. When and with whom we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:
- With service providers acting on our behalf (for example, hosting, crash reporting, and email delivery), bound by confidentiality and data-processing agreements.
- To comply with law, valid legal process, or to protect rights, property, or safety.
- In connection with a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, in which case affected users will be notified.
5. Third-party services
Our apps may rely on platform services provided by Apple, Google, and infrastructure providers such as our hosting platform. These providers process limited technical data under their own privacy policies. Our Services may also link to third-party websites; we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
Our website uses only the cookies and local storage needed to make the site work and to remember basic preferences. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Our mobile apps do not use advertising SDKs.
7. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it. Diagnostic logs are typically retained for no more than 90 days.
8. Security
We use reasonable organizational and technical measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, restricted access, and regular review of our practices. No system can be guaranteed perfectly secure; you use the Services at your own risk and are responsible for keeping your devices and accounts protected.
9. Children's privacy
Our Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Users in California (CCPA/CPRA) have the right to know what personal information we collect and to request its deletion, and not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@0x.company. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
11. Do-Not-Track signals
Most browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature. Because there is no agreed standard for how DNT should be handled, our Services do not currently respond to DNT signals. We do, however, limit tracking as described above.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted on our website or within the relevant app. Your continued use of the Services after a change indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
